Heartstone Project and the House of Commons
Last year, our Year 5 pupils had the opportunity to participate in the Heartstone project, a remarkable initiative that uses storytelling to promote understanding and break down prejudice and stereotypes.
The Heartstone project was a transformative experience for our pupils, as it allowed them to explore diverse perspectives and develop a deeper appreciation for the richness of our community. This year, the Year 5 children and the adults involved in the project were invited to the House of Commons, a prestigious and historic institution, to share their experiences and insights.
As part of this exciting opportunity, the Year 5 pupils were asked to write about what they enjoyed most about the Heartstone project, what they contributed to it, and why they should be selected to represent our school. The response was overwhelming, and five talented pupils were chosen to read their entries at the House of Commons.
This experience not only showcased the incredible talent and creativity of our pupils but also aligned perfectly with our school's core values of Scholarship, Empathy, and Community. Through the Heartstone project, our pupils demonstrated their commitment to learning, their ability to consider diverse perspectives, and their desire to make a positive impact on the world around them.
As a school, we are incredibly proud of our Year 5 pupils and the adults who have dedicated their time and effort to the Heartstone project.
