Nursery Pupils Explore Legoland
At Norbury Manor Primary School, we believe in providing our pupils with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support their academic and personal growth. on Thursday 20th June 2024 our Nursery pupils had the opportunity to visit Legoland, an exciting adventure that perfectly aligned with their ongoing curriculum.
Connecting Curriculum to Exploration
The Nursery pupils' visit to Legoland was designed to enhance their understanding of the topics they have been exploring throughout the year. As part of their studies, the children have been delving into stories like "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," which features a charming brook. During their Legoland adventure, the pupils were able to explore a real-life brook, bringing the story to life and deepening their connection to the curriculum.
Additionally, the children had the chance to drive various vehicles, which directly linked to their topic on wheels. This hands-on experience allowed them to explore the mechanics and functions of different modes of transportation, further enriching their learning.
Embracing the School's Values
At Norbury Manor Primary School, we are committed to instilling our core values in our pupils, and the Legoland visit was a perfect opportunity to do so. Our values of Resilience, Empathy, Scholarship, Peace, Excellence, Community, and Thankfulness were woven throughout the experience.
The children demonstrated Resilience as they navigated new environments and tackled challenges. They showed Empathy by supporting and encouraging one another during the activities. Their Scholarship was evident in their curiosity and eagerness to learn, and their Peace was reflected in their respectful behaviour throughout the trip.
The Excellence of our Nursery pupils shone through as they engaged wholeheartedly in the activities, and their sense of Community was fostered as they worked together to explore the Legoland grounds. Finally, the children expressed Thankfulness for the opportunity to embark on this enriching adventure.
Creating Lasting Memories
The Nursery pupils' visit to Legoland was not just an educational experience but also a chance to create lasting memories. The children's faces were filled with excitement and wonder as they navigated the park, and their enthusiasm for learning was palpable.
These moments of joy and discovery are at the heart of our school's mission to nurture "learners today, leaders tomorrow." By providing our pupils with engaging, hands-on learning opportunities, we aim to instil a love of learning that will serve them well throughout their educational journey and beyond.
